9月12日（木）－15日（日）、アリゾナ州立大学サンダーバードグローバル経済大学院の歴史上、最大規模のグローバル・リユニオンが東京にて開催されました。

アリゾナ州立大学サンダーバードグローバル経済大学院は、アメリカに本部を置くアリゾナ州の大学・大学院で、1946年に設置されました。70年以上の歴史を持ち、グローバル・マネジメントおよびグローバル・リーダーシップに特化した、世界的にも知名度を誇る高等教育機関です。 フェニックスの他、東京・ジュネーブ・モスクワ・ドバイ・ワシントンDC・ロサンゼルス・ソウルに海外オフィスを持ち、2019年には、日本でも一般社団法人サンダーバードグローバル経営大学院教育財団を設立し、弊社稲増は評議員を務めております。

US News & World Report誌では、国際マネジメント分野で15年連続で1位のランキングを得ています。またWall Street Journalのビジネススクール・レポート2019ではMaster in Management ranking in the Times Higher Educationにおいて堂々の1位を獲得しました。

サンダーバードの卒業生（アラムナイ）の人数は45,000人以上に上り、世界中150カ国に170以上のアラムナイ組織があります。サンダーバードのアラムナイ・ネットワークは非常に貴重であり、エコノミスト誌＜The Economist 2014＞でも、将来性の高いアラムナイ ネットワークとして第3位にランク付けされています。また2009年、The Economist誌より、ネットワーク力で世界2位、卒業生の国際性で世界2位を獲得しました。

9月14日（土）東京ミッドタウン日比谷６FのBASE-Qというイベントホールにて10時のWelcome Coffeeからスタートいたしました。ビジネス・フォーラムのタイトルは

「The Forth Industrial Revolution and Globalization
　　～第４次産業革命とグローバリゼーション」

海外から200名以上のメンバーが集い、語り合い刺激し合う時間となりました。

午前の部、アジア各地から集まった5人のパネリストの一人として、弊社の稲増がパネル・ディスカッション「Global Family Business and Entrepreneurship」にてお話をさせていただきました。女性の起業自体がまだ珍しい日本においてどのようにマネジメントを実践しているのか、世界各国から集まったアラムナイ・メンバーには非常に興味深かったようで、その後質問と名刺交換が続きました。

今回のパネル・ディスカッションは、最初にパネリストの個人的なストーリーを語ってから、そののち質問を受けつける形式でした。少しでも当日の雰囲気を感じていただけるように、稲増が当日お話した内容の英文を掲載いたします。

<Introduction : my story>
My company Mission is “We choose who we are.”
In other words, “I choose who I am.”

I would like to start my entrepreneurship story with the development of my character and my outlook of life.
There were 3 women who greatly influenced me in my childhood.
My mother, My aunty, and Mother Teresa.

From them, I learned 3 guiding principles for my life and my leadership.
Those principles are：　Self-compassion, Self-esteem, and Self-awareness.

I learned Self-compassion from my mother.
　Unfortunately, my mother was a negative example of self-compassion.
　She was terribly self-critical for secretly wanting more than just being good　mother and wife.
　Her lack of self-compassion was so strong that　it damaged her psychologically.
I learned Self-esteem from my aunty.
　She was a great example of the courage to go against the cultural expectations.
　She created her own future.
And I learned Self-awareness from Mother Teresa.
　To me, she is the No.1 Global leader.　She taught us not to analyze ourselves but
　instead to be self-aware. To accept that we have bad side, but that we can still
　　 　choose our attitude and our actions.
In other words, We choose who we are 　— 　my company’s Mission.

With this background even as a young woman. I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I wanted to make the world a better, more peaceful place.
And to do that, I had to support harmony and self-awareness.
I had several ideas how I might accomplish this. Eventually, I realized I could reach people through my own business. But still I had to learn and prepare myself.

Even though my college major was psychology, I joined Fujitsu as a system engineer.
Why?
1st, because I knew computers and IT were going to become crucial elements in our lives.
2nd, I also wanted to learn the realities of the traditional Japanese corporate world.
After Fujitsu, I went to Thunderbird to expand my global thinking and my global network.
When I came back to Japan, I joined a consulting firm, where I met my future business partner.

Eventually, we founded HRI ：　”Human Resources Institute”,
where we live our vision: Helping people and organizations “choose who they are”.
We are a consulting company specializing in BD, OD, HRD, coaching and training.
We are currently operating in Japan, China, Vietnam and Thailand.
We are also actively involved in supporting communities in need, as an example we have
re-built 17 elementary schools in Vietnam and Cambodia.
